Legend QDI released the latest powerful and
innovative Easy Technologies at Comdex 2000
in Las Vegas. Since the debut of SpeedEasy in 1996, Legend
QDI has led the way with these advanced onboard features that
give control and power to the user. Continuing this tradition,
their latest BootEasy technology enormously improves the long
BOOT process time of computers. Reducing the wait time every
user has to suffer when starting their computer.
The BIOS has to perform many routines when the system starts,
such as checking system core
of the computer and initializing system peripherals. However,
this process can take 40 seconds
to one minute to complete. Users have been accustomed to this
long process for a long time, but with the release of BootEasy
that is about to change. Completely improve the BOOT process,
BootEasy will only process system checking and peripherals
initialization during the first start-up of the system, thereafter,
it keeps the information data of all system peripherals and
the results of initialization in Flash ROM. Thus, next time
you start the system, the BIOS will not run these repetitive
operations any longer but enter into "High Way" mode. This
process only requires 4 - 5 seconds, so it drastically reduces
the Boot process time.
Of course, users can disable the BootEasy function at any
time. If you want to change the configuration of the system,
for example, to change DIMM, CPU or Graphics Card, you must
disable the BootEasy function first and then you may restart
the BootEasy function after the configuration has been changed;
otherwise, the system may start up abnormally. However, don't
worry! If the BIOS fails to start the system for three times,
it will automatically return to the normal starting mode and
run a complete system checking and initialization again.
Legend QDI will equip this function on some new products,
for example, Advance 10B, KineitiZ 7B and SynactiX 2EP which
is based on the newest Intel 815EP chipset.
