Legend Platinix 2-A motherboard
Qualifies for Microsoft WHQL Windows XP certification tests
Since application for the Windows XP certification
test was started by Microsoft on September 23 this year., in as
short a period as half a month, QDI Platinix 2-A motherboard has
successfully passed Microsoft WHQL Windows XP certification tests,
which means perfect compatibility with the Microsoft Windows XP
operation system soon to appear on the market.
It is reported that Windows XP is a new generation
OS which Microsoft Corp. is elaborately preparing for the second
half of the year. As recommended by Microsoft with full swing, Windows
XP, will inevidently replace the current Windows 9X series or even
2000 and loom as the mainstream OS in the future. Consideration
for compatibility with Windows XP is therefore very rigorous. A
global list of all software and hardware compatible with Windows
XP has been issued by Microsoft, which adds more extensive and stringent
requirements such as remote logon support in comparison to their
predecessors.
The purpose of Microsoft WHQL (trademark of Windows
Hardware Quality Lab) is to test computers, peripheral hardware
devices and drivers for OS compatibility and stability. WHQL, abbreviated
for Windows Hardware Quality Lab, is established by Microsoft to
ensure for computer hardware compatibility with Windows OS. Products
which qualify for WHQL are entitled to be labeled with WHQL certification
designation. With endorsement from Microsoft, consumers/users can
buy WHQL compliant products with a larger degree of guaranty.
With its Platinix 2-A motherboard among the first
to qualify for the rigorous tests of Microsoft WHQL for Windows
XP compatibility, QDI becomes one of the first two to three primary
motherboard manufacturers to pass the test. This not only means
that Platinix 2-A qualifies for the Windows XP hardware compatibility
specifications and meets all the technical requirements of Microsoft
Windows XP application programming standards and superior quality
for Platinix 2-A, it is also a demonstration of the quick response
and collective strength of the R & D team of the QDI motherboard.
Once Windows XP OS is released and launched onto the market, this
latest QDI motherboard with Pentium 4 processor compatibility can
be upgraded directly and smoothly to the most up-to-date OS. Actually,
Platinix 2-A has passed the Microsoft WHQL Windows 2000 qualification
test before this.
Meanwhile, there is a more obvious internationalizing
trend in the development of science and technologies. While domestic
IT manufacturers are beginning to pay more attention to the significance
of the Microsoft WHQL certification; PC products are being submitted
one after another for qualification tests so as to obtain an evidence
of the compatibility of their product, improve user acceptance and
sharpen their competitive edges; many years earlier QDI motherboards
have partaken in such certification and all of the mainstream products
have obtained the Microsoft certification and were granted the WHQL
qualification logos.
