Q1. What's the
requirments needed to support Suspend to RAM?
1. Power Supply: The current 5VSB Line of the Power supply
should be more than 0.75A.
2. The BIOS option "ACPI function" should be
enabled and the option "ACPI Suspend Type" should
be set as S3 in AWARD BIOS CMOS setup.
3. An ACPI-enabled operating system (Windows 98 or Windows
2000) is required.
To install ACPI-enabled Windows 98 operating system, the
setup command should be typed as:
D:/SETUP /P J
If the operating system is already installed, you can
enable ACPI function through the Microsoft HCT(Hardware
Compatibility Test) installation process.
Q2. What's the "S1" and "S3"
status for the ACPI?
An ACPI compliant Intel 810 platform can support the
following power management status:
S0: Full-on
S1: Stop Grant
S3: Suspend to RAM
S4: Suspend to Disk
S5: Soft-off
Q3. What's the Red LED function?
When the system enter standby mode, the Red LED
is on, at this time memory cant be took off.
Q4. Can I disable the built-in on-chip VGA
or on-board sound on the WinneX series mainboard, and
at the same time use another PCI VGA card or PCI Sound
card?
Yes, You can.
1. For the PCI sound card, you must firstly set the
jumper JSD on the mainboard with pin1 & pin2 closed.
2. Then in the section "Integrated Peripherals"
of BIOS, You must set: "Init Display First"
as "PCI Slot" in order to use the PCI VGA
card, set "AC97 Audio", "Midi port address"
and "Game port address" as "Disabled"
to disable the AC97 Audio onboard.
3. Now you can install the VGA drivers or the Sound
drivers which desired.
Q5. How many drivers should be installed in order
to use the WinneX series Mainboard efficiently? How
to install ?
There are 6 drivers, all the drivers can be installed
from the Legend QDI Mainboard Utility CD-ROM which is
supplied with each mainboard. To install them, please
refer to the WinneX series mainboard user manual.
Q6. What's the requirment for the system
running in Ultra ATA/66 mode?
1. The mainboard must have a special Ultra ATA/66
detect circuit, such as WinneX MB.
2. The system BIOS supports Ultra ATA/66
3. The OS must be capable of DMA transfers, such as
Win95 (OSR2) and Win98.
4. An Ultra ATA/66 capable, 40-pin, 80-conductor cable
is needed.
5. Ultra ATA/66 compatible IDE device such as a hard
drive or CD-ROM drive.
Q7. How can I successfully upgrade BIOS
of WinneX-1 mainboard?
1. Set the FWH Protection Jumper (JAV ) on the mainboard
as open.
2. In the section "Advanced BIOS Feature Setup"
in the BIOS , set the option "Flash Write Protect
"as "Disabled".
Note: There is an error in the "WinneX 1 User Manual"
concerning this option , however the correct explanation
is:

3. Follow the steps according to Page 19 of the WinneX-1
User Manual for a successful upgrade.
Q8. How can I avoid or remove the yellow
exclamation mark under "system" of Control
panel?
If you successfully installed Windows 95/98 and
all of drivers, but you still find a yellow exclamation
mark (!) under the "system" of Control panel,
That may be the reason of AMR card. Because there
is a AMR slot in the WinneX series mainboard, If you
didn't plug an AMR card into it, you have to disable
the "AC97 Modem" in "Integrated Peripherals"
of BIOS Setup. Then you won't find the yellow exclamation
mark again.
Q9. On WinneX series mainboard, if there
is no audio CD sound from the CD-Rom, What can I do?
1. You have to successfully installed the AC-97
digital audio driver;
2. After installed all of drivers, enter Control
Panel;
3. Enter Multimedia;
4. Then enter CD Music;
5. Finally tick the "Enable digital CD audio for
this CD-Rom device";
6. Restart your system.
